Claim requests
Arda Marred does not require an application, but rather a character claim that still needs to be approved by the mods. This is a bit like the little sibling of an application: It is shorter and more aimed towards making it easier for other players to get the gist of your character. The audience of your info post is primarily other players. We do reserve the right to decline claims or request revisions before the claim is approved. To place a claim, the following is needed:
✦ The character may be neither held for someone else nor already claimed.
✦ They must have an info post on their journal that uses the info post form and seems acceptable to the mods.
✦ Be one of the allowed character types as listed on the FAQs.
Format
✦ In the subject line, please write: Character Type | Character Name | Canon | Held/Not Held
✦ Please use one comment for each character.
✦ If this is a re-claim of a dropped or idled character, please also write "re-claim" in the subject line.
✦ If you run out of subject line space, just continue the rest of the info underneath the in reply.
✦ To request a character with an animal companion co-claim please add a note in your reply, and whether or not that companion is essential or non-essential.
Please note the following:
While you are allowed to place a claim at any time, claims are only processed from the 8th to the 15th of any given month. Please try not to post on the very last day, because claims can take several days to process.
We have a hard max of three AUs of the same character. That means that there should be one canon spot always available, and three AU spots. These AUs must also be different from each other. We will be using time stamps to determine processing order during claims.
Due to the nature of highly varied character types, some claims may take longer than others because more than one mod has to look at them for whatever reason. If you are "skipped" please understand that you are not forgotten, we simply need to take more time with your claim.
Due to the nature of allowing so many different character types and duplicates, many times "judgement calls" have to be made in terms of what characters are allowed, not allowed, or need to be AU. Some situations are going to be tricky! Power adjustment, questions, and revision requests won't be uncommon. But never fear! We're here to help you get in, rather than keep you out.

Non canon AU | Isa | Kingdom Hearts | not held
Player who referred you: Stareyes
Full Canon Title: Kingdom Hearts
Character Name: Isa
Info post: http://mimaikin.dreamwidth.org/756.html
Is this character a duplicate ?: No
Briefly explain how this character differs from their canon counterpart (and other versions currently in game): Physical changes: his ears aren't elongated, and his eyes are green/turquiose/ 'm not so good at colours, not yellow. Though they might get slightly yellow tint sometimes, when he's besides himself with rage, but that rarely happens nowadays. He's also five or six years older than canon Saix of KH 2 (physically and mentally. But if someone bothered to check it somehow, he was born 65 years ago in his main time.)
As for personality changes, his personality is similar to Saix's, but with slightly more Light (he does have a light sliver of Light in his Heart right now, unlike Vanitas, afterall). Like Saix, this Isa is a Nobody right now, but one with a regrowing Heart and fully aware of the growth. He even sometimes strikes conversations (and not business likes one, too, sometimes) with people to help his Heart regrow!
He shows slightly more patience for fools than canon Saix, because the ones who saved his existence were also fools, in his opinion. Though he'll show little to no patience to any Darkness... correction, to any uncontrolled Darkness. If you're a Dark being but control your Darkness and don't threaten those he's possessive of, then fine, you can exist, even if your smell is loathsome.
He never uses his divining nowadays, as there are still tiny remnants of a certain person in his burgeoning Heart, and he has no desire to share 'future' with him. So he's now as clueless about his future as his canon counterpart.
[tell me if it's too long, I'll summarise even more]
Revision Request
We actually have an Info Post Format that we ask our players to use to keep things standardized.
Please fill that out and post it your journal, then comment here with a link to it.
After that, we can process your claim normally. Getting other revision requests or adjusting character's powers may also happen (they're pretty common!) but nothing to panic about, we're just trying to keep everything nice and tidy.
Oops, I should've checked, sorry. Is it okay now?
The rest stays as above, if that's alright.
Question!
I’m not canon familiar so I’ve got some questions for you, then we can take care of possible power adjustments.
- You say the claymore can “seal hearts” – how to you envision that working in AM? What does this do and can it potentially be used on player characters?
-The claymore can also “open anything” – does this apply only to locked doors / items? (If so, we’d ask that this not apply to magically sealed doors/objects.)
-Re: The berserk ability – How do you envision this working in AM? Obviously there will be no visible gauge as there is in the video game. Based upon that we’d like you to put this in your own words.
-Re: the Wayfinder – what do you mean by connecting hearts? What would it do in AM? (if you like, it can simply not work as you suggest, and we don’t have to adjust it.)
Power adjustment on Clairvoyance:
- Re: Clairvoyance – Looks like you didn’t intend to use it much anyway, but unfortunately this will have to be nixed. Generally we cut “future telling” or “premonition” type abilities.
Re: Question!
The Keyblade can open any locks, not a Claymore, sorry if I wasn't precise. And well, it means that if he's locked somewhere, even in some magical way, he can open his way out. Of course, gonna limit that for plot purposes - any special events and such.
And as for locking Hearts and taking Hearts, it's probably not gonna happen in Arda anyway, and I'd discuss it with the characters' players first anyway. Taking a Heart would turn someone into a Heartless (https://www.google.pl/search?q=heartless&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjL8bj8mqnKAhXn33IKHRXZAe4Q_AUIBygB&biw=1366&bih=628) , basically a monster let's say, so it'll 1. be impossible or limited here 2. Be discussed with players if possible anyway.
As for clairvoyance - well, I thought so, and I doubt AU Isa will notice, since he's last tried using it a few years ago and haven't since.
As for the Berserk ability - well, this AU Isa tries to control his anger, but let's just say that in extremely traumatic situation his ability may show up. Of course I may just limit it then. But, let's just say if a friend dies, or if he's close to being overcome by Darkness (all his negative emotions and stuff) then he might use Berserk, but I might limit the capabilities of it for the game. Oh, and it's more probable to happen at night - Moon powers and all that. He's even less likely to berserk during a day, unless some unpredictable traumatic events happen, and I'm not even sure if they would here. This isn't a very dark game, from what I can tell, but we'll see.
Speaking of Wayfinder, I may limit the ability, but that might not be necessary. It's about borrowing powers from other people, in short, and I'd first discuss it extensively with whatever characters may bond with Isa if they do. I think that's fine?
Re: Question!
If you don't have a plurk (or if you prefer) we can continue here, just let me know.
