Re: Revisions / Questions / Power Adjustments

I will attempt to answer all of these as best as possible, going into this realizing that because things are so hard to pin down with him that he might not be a good fit with this game. And thank you for your patience, I was staff at an anime con this weekend and have been swamped with prep since the panic meeting several weeks ago, and only merely buried with it for the past few months before that. (I was in the hospital in may, around then two of our GMs - I work LARP - bailed and btw they did none of their prep work, another gm stopped showing up at meetings on line and in person and ultimatly just didn't show up to con, and we were switching to a new system AND doing an overly ambitious plot, and at the panic meeting.. we were still adding npcs and plot arcs. Wednesday before con we were fixing and patching a major mechanic until 10am thursday morning... it was just a mess. So again, thank you for bearing with me,)

Flight: I can accept that limitation. He is a racer in his world and FAST at flying, Peorth comments that he is the first person to ever out fly her, and that was without a broom. Should he ever get his broom back, I would like to request that his flight speeds would be revisited at that time.

Collecting souls: I would love for him to try, fail, and face consequences. 99% of what he does in canon is tries to do something illicit, getting caught, cursing himself to avoid punishment, and through the curse making things worse for himself in comical ways. (example, he was supposed to have his memories wiped of Belldandy, to avoid that, he cursed himself to stay stuck as a child instead, the curse blocking the "punishment" of forgetting. But that meant his powers were limited, and as they grew, they were destroying his body. When they were getting too much to handle, he built a virus to stop time because if Belldandy didn't remember him - the condition he foolishly built into the curse - he and she would both die. As punishment for hacking the main computer of the universe and trying to stop time, he was punished to live out the next 200 years as a cat. To again escape the "wiping his memory" part of the curse, he cursed himself to be female while he is a cat. This... let him keep his memories and powers, but his powers don't always work the way he expects. So if the mods are willing, I would find it a tremendous amount of fun to plot what he would ultimately get as a punishment and work back to the most hilarious way to make it his own stupid fault.

Altering individual time - Sure. He hasn't tried that ability much since being turned into a cat, so we can just say that it is part of what is going wonky and it wont work. When/if he regains his child form or his adult form, it still won't work, much to his frustration, which can be fun to play with.

Magic: it is broad because in the series... it is broad. We see conjuring small items, so I can accept the limitations placed on conjuring without a problem. Cursing (as I will elaborate on, below), levitation of items and self. We see him specifically change the weight/ density on a set of rather large balls to keep Keichii hostage. We know his magic for larger spells is wind based, and that he has a weakness to water when keeping a large spell running. But the spell we see this with is the spell he used as a stop gap to try and squelch his own growing powers. I know there is at least one demon that can make people unlucky, and the Goddesses (who are supposed to be the light side of the same coin as his people, so roughly equivalent) can be pretty creative with their magic. Belldandy can shrink herself, Urd can split herself. The Goddesses all can travel through a specific type of item though it is never said that demons can, as far as I have read, so I can say that he cannot as of now and discuss if the canon says otherwise later. But for example, one Goddess made a badge that changed expression to show how happy someone is when they wore it. The problem with Velsper, magically, is that in canon... we see him do a number of BIG spells, but they are all situationally specific and not things he would do elsewhere, except the time thing which has been understandable nerfed into nothingness in AM. We know that when he has his broom, he was one of the fastest racers in all the dimensions, but that was in boy form, with his broom... so... unless he gets that in game AND retakes a human looking form, he'll be as slow as anyone else, even with another broom. The only broom ever to beat his was Stringfellow, and that was as much beacuse Belldandy was flying that and Hild was flying

(Quoted from http://goddess-project.net/board/topic/7685-brooms-and-power-usage-of-goddess/)
"This seems to be one of those "however Mr. Fujishima feels about it at this time" powers. His use and application of transport mediums, gates, and basic teleportation have varied throughout the series without any real logic to their use. Once a concept is introduced into a story he uses it for a while, then sort of forgets about it from time to time if it would interfere with the story or add un-needed complications."

This was from me trying to look up the name of Velsper's broom, since I do not have access to my manga at this time, but it is a good example of why I am having trouble pointing to things and saying "Demons can do this this this and this". We know that Velsper is less powerful than Hild (the CEO of the Demons) but he seems to be more powerful by far than Mara, who herself is more powerful than Senbei.... So Anything beyond a Cantrip, I would ask the other player before doing, anything BIG, I could poke a mod, if you want me to.

Hacking: Again, I would be happy to see him try and fail and be punished for it. It suits the way his life works and can be fun to play with. I do doubt that this setting would ever provide him with the chance to try, however.

Familiar: Okay. This one is going to be nearly as hard to explain as magic.... Goddesses can have angels, which they get by swallowing an angel egg. The Egg bonds to their soul and becomes part of their very essence. The angels lay dormant inside the Goddess until they are needed/wanted.
http://lunarcels.rubberslug.com/gallery/img_b.aspx?ImageID=273207&Pass= (Belldandy and her angel, as you can see, the angel is coming out of her back.)

Angels are a reflection of the Goddess' soul, and act as they would act. They cannot disobey their goddess and must follow the letter of what is said, over the spirit. They act as protectors, they help a Goddess tap into more magic, they help a Goddess with tasks that need doing. Belldandy has sent her Angel to create an air barrier to keep someone from crashing their bike. Peorth's Angel - Le Rose Magnifique came out when Velsper threw an energy bolt of some sort (it was left unclear because the author did not want us to know it was Velsper she was fighting) at her to knock her from the sky.
The fight between Velsper and Peorth of the Roses
After Velsper said that he understood, she used her angel to shield her from his attack.

Angels can sing with their goddesses, but seem unable to talk. We have heard them scream, if I recall correctly, during the angel eater incident.

Presumably much is the same with a Demon's familiar, though we rarely see Die Wespe der Blauen Lanze (Blue Lance for short) once she fully bonds with Velsper. He got her through a rather unusual situation - Hild was trying to experiment on the Goddesses by devouring their angels and replacing them with Familiars. So Blue has picked up aspects of Belldandy who hosted her first, and KEiichi who managed to sustain her for a short time (depsite being mortal) before Velsper took her into himself. She does seem to be as much of a little snot as he is, however, using her wing to push Urd's face into the ground when Velsper was feeling smug and snippy.

So she comes directly from his back, no matter his form. She lives inside him because she is part of him, she is now a part of his very soul.

Curses: Demons and Goddesses grant wishes to mortals. It is how they vie for market share. Goddesses (Urd being an excpetion for so many reasons, including being half demon...) tend towards constructive and helpful spells and grant wiahes to good people. Demons tend towards the darker souls, and grant wishes of distruction and misfortune to others. (Mara makes a contract with Sayoko, to have Sayoko obey her, rather than taking her soul, so that everyone on Campus thinks Sayoko is their queen and is absolutly obediant. In exchnage, she has to use that power to order Belldandy to go "Home")

Velsper specifically, seems to spcialize in curses. These are spells that can be broken once a seemingly impossible condition is met - Like Belldandy breaking the spell that made her forget him, or his no longer being a cat - that alter someone in some negitive way. There can be a spositive aspect, but the negative one has to be worse, even if it does not seem worse at first. Example: when he first cuyrsed hismelf to stay a child, it seemed to be no big deal. Fast forwerd a few hundred years, and that curse was going to not only kill him, but the one being other than his broom that he admired, the only being he loved. So while we do not YET know what is so bad about his being female, other than the fact that Hild will laugh at him through eternity... something will probably come up in the anime, or in the issues of the manga I have not yet been able to read but are already out. So in AM, all curses will be discussed with the other player(s) in question ooc before anything happens and agreed to on all sides. There will always be an end condition, even if that isn't shared IC, and there will always be a negative effect. But it is a curse, all curses can be broken, and some curses can have positive outcomes - look at OUAT and all the friendships that might never have been, without the various curses there.

I would love to communicate with you about his form change if/when he can manage it. I would love to play him having spent time making connections as a cat, suddenly showing up as a boy or as a man to yank tails and mess with people's heads. Again... he is a little snot.

I am sorry this was so long, and took so long to get to you. I typed it on a bus, so hopefully it all makes sense and is coherant. Thank you again!
