Is this character a duplicate ?: No. Briefly explain how this character differs from their canon counterpart (and other versions currently in game): When Curufin died, he refused the summons of Mandos and wandered as a houseless spirit. Eventually, he re-embodied himself without divine aid. But when Eru chose him and re-sung him into being in Arda Marred, Curufin's former ghostly nature was accidentally included as a dissonant part of the package, so to speak -- either by mistake, or simply because his case was a confusing one. Thus, though he will ordinarily manifest as a living being, he will also have episodes of reverting to ghost-form.
The canon Curufin shows only a few signs of being aware of just how far off the skids he has slid as a human being. My version of him knows; he has had a change of heart -- although he still has some of the same impulses that got him into trouble in the first place. But he has had time to think and process, and to consciously choose a different direction. He is no longer a thrall of the Oath, and he is seeking a meaningful life that is based on values far more human than the ones that destroyed him (and a lot of other people).
QUESTIONS: 1) Changes and additions made! Let me know if you need anything else? 2) Should I move this post to the "Canon AUs, Non-canonical AUs" section below? -- or leave it here?
