If I AU him this way the following deviations from canon would occour:
He still has the blight, though to a lesser degree (So he still has a limp/needs a walking stick except when actively channeling his magic) His magic will be less powerful than canon when the blight is bad, scaling up to as powerful as he gets in canon when the blight is minimal. At the canon point when I bring him, he will have more on his person, inventory-wise, than he did when he was at that canon point in canon.
Different from previously proposed CRAU: No X-men memories Magic is magic, not mutant power, so he has access to his other spells No knowledge of technology that isn't available in his canon
