First I want to thank you for your assistance thus far, and for being so patient with me. I spent most of the day (being the last 20 hours since I got this) Trying to figure out which would work better, how to make it work if I just went the normal AU route without irrevocably breaking the canon past all recognition, and doing a in depth canon review with a mind to "what would change if he still had a limp?".
Again, thank you for your patience with me. I very much appreciate it.
I think I figured out how to make option 1 work. I hadn;t thought I could at first, but mapping things out mentally as I reread made me think that I could twisted it minimally and make it work.
The theory being: when Jacob ripped the blight out of Greg (through his good leg, because Jacob was trying to ensure Greg hated him) he didn't get all of it. Since my work around for the other game was that when he pumped enough white fire through himself, he could stand... so long as he kept the white fire going. (He usually forgot, which led to the lovely face plant gags that are just so iconically Deegan) So that that night when Greg was "all fired up" and the next day, he was still channeling raw white magic. So it wasn't until after that he realized, and for a while he probably fought to keep enough white magic going that he could walk normally, so as to not concern anyone.
That all works until he overloaded his magic, and Dominic basically turned it off. That was what concerned me most, was that time period. But rereading, Dominic admitted to Pam while Greg was off screen to having mucked about in his mind. It is entirely possible, for AU purposes that Domnic - being the manipulative puppet master he is, used a bolster spell to temporarily keep the blight at bay until Greg's powers resurfaced.
His canon point would then be right after arriving at Lynbrook, right before the fight with the infernomancer (so he has his magic, and his limp).
If that would be acceptable, I can rework his powers (since magic isn't mutant powers, and he will be more nerfed when the blight is worse, and less when it is better) and his history section to fit this choice. Would that be alright?
And again, thank you for putting up with all of this, and for your patience. I am sorry I'm being such a pain with Greg, I didn't realize he meant so much to me. I guess I'm just really excited about having him in this game. Everyone here has been so nice so far. Thank you so much.
Edit: I will also have Dominic have been aware that he might be vanishing somewhere, because he is a Seer who can see other planes, so he would have made sure Greg was prepared. So he won't have as much stuff on him as originally proposed, and it will all be canon to what he has in the canon world, just not canon to what he brought to visit Rachel.
